One of two open assistant coaching roles is filled and Weber State football’s 2025 schedule is now complete as the Wildcats enter the new semester and approach signing day in two weeks.

COACHING CHANGES

Veteran assistant Andre Dyson has stepped down from his post as WSU’s cornerbacks coach and the Wildcats have hired Justin Mullgrav to coach the defensive line.

Dyson was in his second stint coaching at Weber State.

After a seven-year NFL career and three seasons coaching at Weber State, Dyson was head coach at his alma mater, Clearfield High School, for seven seasons. He returned to WSU for the spring 2021 season and coached cornerbacks for the last five campaigns.

Weber State needs to fill that defensive role for safeties coach Joe Dale, who takes over as sole defensive coordinator.

The other open spot is filled as WSU has hired Mullgrav for the defensive line.

Mullgrav comes to Weber State with two years of experience coaching linebackers at Eastern Washington and two years as a graduate assistant/defensive analyst at Utah. The New Jersey native played collegiately at South Carolina State.

As of Wednesday, Mullgrav’s addition had not been officially announced but the Standard-Examiner confirmed his hire is complete.

With James Cowser coaching defensive ends, it’s presumed Mullgrav will coach defensive tackles and step into Grant Duff’s position group. Duff — at WSU for 11 seasons as support staff, defensive assistant and then co-defensive coordinator — left the Wildcats to be defensive coordinator at Idaho State.

2025 SCHEDULE

Weber State announced the addition of a home game with Butler, finalizing its 12-game slate for 2025.

The Wildcats open the 2025 season with four of its first five games on the road, including two FBS road games. The season begins on Aug. 30 at James Madison, followed by games at Arizona and McNeese. Butler (from Indianapolis and the Pioneer Football League) comes to Ogden on Sept. 20.

WSU opens its Big Sky schedule Sept. 27 at UC Davis and then byes. The Wildcats play their conference home opener Oct. 11 against Sacramento State.

After a trip to Portland State, Weber hosts Eastern Washington and Montana in consecutive weeks before traveling to national runner-up Montana State.

WSU ends the season with its two rivalry games. The Wildcats play the Train Bell Trophy rivalry at Idaho State, then the regular season concludes with the Red Rock Rivalry and Nothern Arizona coming to Ogden on Nov. 22.

Starting at $4.32/week.
