Weber State women’s volleyball takes 2 road losses, enters Big Sky tournament as 4-seed

Weber State women’s volleyball took two road losses in the final week of the regular season, entering the Big Sky Conference tournament as the No. 4 seed on a three-game losing streak.

The Big Sky tournament is Wednesday through Friday at Sacramento State, the previous season’s regular-season champion. Northern Colorado, this year’s regular-season champ, will host the 2025 tournament.

Weber State (13-14) draws No. 5 Eastern Washington (12-14) at 11 a.m. MST Wednesday. Semifinals are scheduled for 5 and 8 p.m. Thursday. The championship match is 8 p.m. Friday. All games stream on ESPN+.

PSU 3, WSU 1: WSU won the first set but fell Thursday 19-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-23 at Portland State. Ashley Gneiting had 17 kills and Jayda Tupea 11 for WSU. PSU’s Makayla Lewis totaled 23 kills.

SAC 3, WSU 2: Sacramento State claimed a third-place finish Saturday night with a 21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 15-10 victory over Weber State. Gneiting had 15 kills for WSU, and Kate Payne added 33 assists and 22 digs.
