With the 2024-25 season about to begin, Weber State men’s basketball got the third commitment for its 2025 class Friday when California big man Bourgeois Tshilobo announced his pledge to the Wildcats on social media sites.

Tshilobo is a 6-foot-8 paint player who preps at Bishop Alemany in Mission Hills, California, and plays AAU basketball with Team Lillard. Bishop Alemany won California’s Division III CIF state championship last season.

He previously reported offers from St. John’s, UT-Arlington and Morgan State. Tshilobo visited Weber State in September.

Tshilobo joins the addition of 6-foot-6 guard Anthony Moore, who committed to WSU in mid-October. Moore had more than 10 Division-I offers and chose WSU over finalists Columbia, UC San Diego and Cal Poly. From Stockton, California, Moore averaged 16.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game for Lincoln High School last season as a junior.

British guard Melchi Egbeyemi was the first to pledge to Weber State’s 2025 class, announcing his commitment on Oct. 8. He arrived in the United States a few months ago to play at Layton Christian Academy 7 miles from Ogden, received offers from WSU and Cal State Northridge, and quickly decided on Weber State.

Egbeyemi, 6-foot-3 and a native of Nigeria, is said to be quick in the open court and can score at all three levels.

Weber State has five seniors on this year’s roster.

Top recruiting targets from the junior college ranks are likely led by 7-foot-1 French forward Martin De Laporterie at Arizona’s Yavapai College, among others.

From the prep level, 6-foot-2 shooting guard Maguire Evans (Cleveland, Tennessee) visited WSU in September. Another top target is likely to be 6-foot-6 shooter Jude Haigh from Pennsylvania. Haigh, who has 1,475 career high school points and 10 Division-I offers, recently moved to Utah when his father was hired as a women’s basketball assistant coach at Utah State. WSU offered him one month ago.

Weber State opens the 2024-25 season hosting Northwest Indian College on Monday.

Starting at $4.32/week.
