Ogden Raptors set to finish 2024 season with Labor Day weekend, 9-game homestand
27th straight Pioneer League attendance crown still in reach
The Ogden Raptors are providing fans one last gasp of summer as the team returns home for a nine-game homestand to conclude the 2024 season.
With the season coming down the stretch, Ogden goes for its 27th consecutive Pioneer Baseball League attendance crown at Lindquist Field. The Raptors (3,226 fans per game) hold a slight edge over the Boise Hawks (3,131); Boise plays its final home game Sunday.
The homestand begins with a holiday weekend series against the Rocky Mountain Vibes that features free food and two ticket promotions.
Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. game brings the usual ticket promo of buy one, get one free. After the typical 2 p.m. Sunday game, the series concludes with a 2 p.m. Monday matinee for Labor Day. Monday’s tickets are buy one, get one free and Sunday’s “kids day” activities are extended to Monday — kids can play catch on the field before the game and run the bases after.
The Raptors announced Saturday’s homestand opener also comes with free food from Carl’s Jr. All fans in attendance will get a code to redeem in the Carl’s Jr. app for a free cheeseburger meal.
The season concludes with the Glacier Range Riders — the third-year PBL team from Kalispell, Montana — making their first-ever appearance at Lindquist Field. That six-game series begins Tuesday, Sept. 3, with 6:30 p.m. first pitches until the season final at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8.
Glacier and Missoula won first-half postseason berths. First-year PBL teams Oakland and Yolo (Davis, California) currently lead the standings for second-half playoff bids.
The Raptors (36-51, 14-25) will not be defending their 2023 league championship. A series win at Great Falls that concluded Aug. 11 had Ogden firmly in the playoff hunt but the Raptors have gone 3-12 since and are currently on an eight-game losing streak.
Nick Ultsch is Ogden’s top RBI man (82). Raptors iron man Pearce Howard (has played 86 of 87 games) leads the team with a .360 average.
Ogden fans will see Rocky Mountain slugger Steven Rivas, who has 28 home runs and 110 RBIs. He’s second in the league only to Missoula’s Adam Fogel, who set a new league HR record (currently has 34) and has driven in 111 runs.
