CLEARFIELD 3, GREEN CANYON 1
CLEARFIELD — Taven Swartz struck out 12, walked zero, and allowed one unearned run on three hits in a complete-game victory for Clearfield High baseball.
Drew Bremer hit 2 for 3 with one RBI and two runs scored for Clearfield (2-6). Logan Fenn also batted 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Colt Chambers tripled and drove in one.
WEBER 5, BOUNTIFUL 1
BOUNTIFUL — Jarett Hill pitched a masterpiece to get Weber in the win column for the first time in a road victory at Bountiful (1-6).
Hill allowed one unearned run on five hits, striking out six and walking zero in a 70-pitch, seven-inning complete game for Weber (1-6). Jace Redd batted 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Riley Morris drove in two while Eastyn Barker and Aiden Rodarte each tallied two hits.
ROY 5, MTN VIEW 1
ROY — Parker Skidmore pitched a complete-game gem in 79 pitches to help Roy to a non-region win.
Skidmore allowed one earned run on six hits, striking out three and walking one in seven innings for Roy (6-2). He also hit 2 for 3 at the plate, driving in one run. Cache Summers and James Cochran also batted 2 for 3, with Cochran driving in one. All 14 of the game’s hits were singles.
BEAR RIVER 6, MTN CREST 0
GARLAND — Holden Potter joined the gang of Northern Utah’s great pitching performances with a four-hit shutout in a region win over Mountain Crest (6-3, 1-1 Region 11).
Potter struck out eight and walked three for Bear River (6-4, 3-2). He held a 1-0 lead for the Bears into the fifth inning before BR plated three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth. Nick Oliverson hit 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Ethan Higgs, Brooks Drollinger and Dallin Rice each tallied two hits.
WEST FIELD 15, SKY VIEW 5
TAYLOR — Kanyon Pratt roped three doubles, drove in three runs and scored three times as West Field run-ruled Sky View (4-7, 3-1 Region 11) for a five-inning region win.
Grady Garrett doubled and drove in four runs for West Field (5-4, 2-1). Boston Kap tripled and scored three runs. Bryce Bagby pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit, striking out one and walking zero.
MAPLE MTN 7, DAVIS 5
SPANISH FORK — Brody McGuire hit 3 for 4 with two RBIs but Davis couldn’t rally all the way back after undefeated Maple Mountain (10-0) score four runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Kaleb Weber batted 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored for Davis (5-3). Wally Grant and Owen Talbot each hit a double. Grant allowed one unearned run on three hits in a four-inning start, striking out six and walking one.
FOOTHILL-CA 8, LAYTON 0
SANTA ANA, Calif. — Fish Manning singled for Layton’s lone hit as home team Foothill (California) (11-3) pitched a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts to defeat the Lancers (0-5).
SOFTBALL
BOX ELDER 13, SKY VIEW 3
BRIGHAM CITY — Lucy Braegger pitched a complete-game one-hitter, allowing zero earned runs while striking out 12 and walking five, to lead Box Elder to another win, defeating Sky View (4-7) in a non-region game.
Kennadie Blackmer raked a 3-for-4 day at the plate with two home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored to lead Box Elder (11-0) at the plate. Kailee Hall batted 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs.
DAVIS 17, VIEWMONT 6
BOUNTIFUL — Riley Jacques led Davis in a 19-hit, five-homer barrage with two home runs and five RBIs as the Darts dashed Viewmont (4-6).
Cambell Christensen hit 3 for 5 with a homer, a double and two RBIs for Davis (5-5). Chloe Peery and Hadlee Isaacs each hit solo home runs. Christensen struck out nine in the circle, spreading 10 hits for five earned runs.
SYRACUSE 15, LOGAN 0
SYRACUSE — Syracuse scored 11 first-inning runs in a four-inning victory.
Grace Thomas batted 3 for 4 with a double and five RBIs to lead Syracuse (8-3). Oaklee Derrickson drove in three. Jazmine Prathan batted 3 for 3 with a triple and a double. Haydin Giatras spread four hits across four innings.
SALEM HILLS 12, FREMONT 5
PLAIN CITY — Salem Hills only outhit Fremont 14-13 but Fremont pitchers issued nine walks and took a loss after the visitors put the game away with six runs in the top of the seventh.
Jessica Broadbent batted 3 for 4 to lead Fremont (1-10) at the plate. Savannah Palmatier, Cara Henrie and Olivia Broadbent each tallied two hits, with Henrie and Olivia Broadbent hitting a double apiece.
BOUNTIFUL 11, WEST FIELD 2
TAYLOR — West Field briefly led 2-1 after one frame but Ella Miller settled in for Bountiful (8-1) on the way to a nine-strikeout complete-game to down the Longhorns.
For West Field (4-2), Ella Doxey and Kam Bell drove in the first-inning runs and each hit a double. Rylee Andreason also doubled.
LEHI 9, LAYTON 4
LAYTON — Lehi (10-1) plated four runs in the sixth to put away Layton.
Olivia Woodall batted 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Layton (0-2). Nora Morrow hit 2 for 3 and Megan Child drove in a run.
BOYS SOCCER
DAVIS 3, WEBER 0
KAYSVILLE — Davis scored once in the first half and twice in the second to hand Weber (7-1, 0-1 Region 1) its first loss this season as region play began for both teams.
Kyle Livermore, Cooper Harwood and Kasen Smith each scored for Davis (4-2, 1-0). Nick Forysth had the shutout in goal.
SYRACUSE 1, FREMONT 0
PLAIN CITY — Emery Smith scored in the first half, assisted by Easton Cragun, and it was enough for Syracuse (5-3, 1-0 Region 1) to hand Fremont (6-1, 0-1) its first loss in a region opener Wednesday.
LAYTON 2, FARMINGTON 1
FARMINGTON — Crew Hawley and Edwin Tamoua scored one goal apiece as Layton (4-2, 1-0 Region 1)) won at Farmington (1-2, 0-1).
OGDEN 8, GRANTSVILLE 0
OGDEN — Gerardo Esquivel and Luis Velasco each tallied a hat trick, with Velasco adding three assists, as Ogden blew out Grantsville (2-5, 1-2 Region 13).
Grant Aardema and Jace Rodriguez each scored once for Ogden (8-0, 4-0).

GIRLS LACROSSE
FREMONT 22, ROY 3
ROY — Azlyn Williams netted seven goals to lead Fremont to a win Tuesday at Roy.
Bailey Sargent and Kate Jenkins each scored four times for Fremont (4-1). Macee Mitton added three goals.
Roy (1-3) got a goal apiece from Nicole Aguayo, Kember Patterson and Ada James.
BOYS LACROSSE
RIVERTON 8, ROY 6
RIVERTON — Tyler Dickson scored four goals but Roy lost at Riverton (3-4).
Kayson Brimhall and Kenai Sudyka each scored one goal for Roy (1-6).
