Prep roundup: Roth strikes out 14 in two-hit shutout for Davis softball
Weber, Ogden, Syracuse net boys soccer wins

KAYSVILLE — Serena Roth threw a two-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts and one walk as Davis High softball claimed a 6-0 home win Monday.
Riley Jacques hit 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs for Davis (4-4). Chloe Peery also homered and drove in two. Roth batted 3 for 3 with a double.
WEBER 23, BONNEVILLE 7
PLEASANT VIEW — Morgan Dixon batted 5 for 5 with six RBIs and two doubles and Weber outscored Bonneville to get in the win column.
Weber (1-4) scored 12 runs in the first inning, with Dixon and Aliyah Rhees each tallying two hits in the frame. Rhees finished 4 for 5 with six RBIs. Gabby Montgomery, Jade Kulpa and Ari Hillan each had two of Weber’s 18 total hits. The Warriors also stole 10 bases.
Whitney Richards and Marley Chournos each had three hits for Bonneville (2-6). Peyton Johnson drove in three runs.
SYRACUSE 5, CYPRUS 4
SYRACUSE — Syracuse took a 4-3 lead in the sixth, Cyprus tied it in the top of the seventh, then the Titans claimed a walk-off win with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Olivia Brown hit 2 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and one run scored to lead Syracuse (7-1) at the plate. Grace Thomas batted 3 for 3 and scored two runs.
Haydin Giatras pitched the final three innings, working around five walks by striking out six and giving up one run on one hit.
NORTHRIDGE 12, WHITE PINE-NV 7
BEAVER — Kaylee Shirreffs batted 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs in a four-inning game Saturday over Viewmont.
Madisyn Lecour homered for Northridge (4-4). Makaybree Nay hit 2 for 2 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
BEAVER 9, NORTHRIDGE 3
BEAVER — Berklee Larsen batted 2 for 3 but Northridge lost Saturday at Beaver. Makaybree Nay had two hits.

ST. GEORGE — Aracely DeLeon hit 3 for 4 with two doubles and five RBIs to lead Ogden to a win Saturday.
Jill Wood homered, doubled and drove in two for Ogden (3-4). Wood and Kenzie George each had two hits.

ST. GEORGE — Ogden saw Spring Valley (Nevada) erase a 9-2 deficit and take the game Saturday.
Jill Wood homered, doubled and drove in three for the Tigers. Aracely DeLeon, Sophia Edwards and Kenzie George each had two RBIs.

ST. GEORGE — Callie Averett threw a six-inning, four-hit shutout Saturday, striking out five and walking two.
Kassidy Wardell drove in two runs for Morgan (5-1). Eva Birkeland hit 2 for 3 with a double and one RBI. Joesi Kelly doubled and drove in a run.

ST. GEORGE — Eva Birkeland pitched a five-inning, one-hit shutout Saturday at Dixie High.
Birkeland doubled and drove in a run at the plate. Lexi Hardman batted 2 for 3.

ST. GEORGE — Jazmine Prathan hit two homers and drove in five for a blowout win Saturday.
Olivia Brown and Oaklee Derrickson also hit home runs. Haydin Giatras struck out six and allowed two earned runs on two hits in four innings.

ST. GEORGE — Oaklee Derrickson hit 2 for 2 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs in a three-inning win Saturday.

OGDEN — Brycen Munford threw a two-hit shutout in five innings, striking out seven and walking two in a road win for Bonneville.
Jaygen Noble homered, tripled and drove in four runs for Bonneville (3-4). Adam Field hit 3 for 5 with four RBIs. Wade Larsen drove in three and scored three runs. Cooper Rowley scored four runs.
Marco Avina and Kayden Bingham tallied the two hits for Ben Lomond (0-3).
PLEASANT GROVE 5, DAVIS 2
PLEASANT GROVE — Davis went up 2-0 in the first and the game went into the sixth tied before Pleasant Grove plated three runs.
Owen Talbot got the only hit for Davis (2-1), a two-run homer in the first. Kaleb Weaver allowed one earned run on four hits, striking out five in 3 2/3 innings.
LONE PEAK 6, WEBER 2
PLEASANT VIEW — Jace Redd doubled and Jarett Hill drove in a run but Lone Peak stifled Weber (0-3). Cooper Johnson gave up one run on four hits over 3 1/3 innings.
RIDGELINE 3, BEAR RIVER 2
MILLVILLE — Holden Potter gave up two earned runs on three hits, striking out nine in six innings of a hard-luck road region loss for Bear River.
Potter doubled and drove in both runs for Bear River (3-2, 0-1 Region 11). Ethan Higgs batted 2 for 2 with one walk.

OREM — Luke Bauerle hit 2 for 2 with a double and a run scored in a Morgan road loss.
Kanyon Leonelli drove in two runs for Morgan (5-2).
WEST FIELD 5, CRIMSON CLIFFS 2
ST. GEORGE — Tyce Abbott pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run on six hits while striking out four, while doubling and scoring at the plate to help West Field to a Saturday road win.
Conner Miles and Grady Garrett each hit a double and drove in two runs for West Field (3-3). Garrett finished 2 for 3 at the plate.

ST. GEORGE — Boston Kap hit 2 for 3 and drove in West Field’s lone run, soring Brady Penland, in a Saturday loss.

PLAIN CITY — Jace Hadley took the tough pitchers’ duel loss for Fremont (2-2) at home Saturday.
Hadley spread nine hits across seven innings, giving up an RBI single in the sixth. He struck out four and walked zero. Timpanogos got seven three-hit innings from Canyon Clegg, striking out six and walking one.

KAMAS — Luis Velasco and Jace Rodriguez each tallied a hat trick and Ogden routed South Summit (2-3) to open region play.
Gabe Liptrap, Brayden Wilson and Adam Jenks each scored one goal for Ogden (5-0, 1-0 Region 13). Gerardo Esquivel and Matt Browning each had two assists.

SYRACUSE — Syracuse picked up its third straight win, all shutouts from keeper Dallin Treasure, in a home win over Morgan (1-5).
Wyatt Affleck scored twice in the second half for Syracuse (3-3), assisted by Easton Cragun an Tate Jacobs. Mateo Gutierrez scored in the first half.

WEBER GOES 3-0 AT INVITE
PLEASANT VIEW — Weber High went 3-0 at its own boys volleyball invitational Saturday, defeating West Field, Bonneville and Hunger while dropping just one set for the day.
Bonneville claimed one win, defeating Green Canyon in straight sets.

LAYTON — Ella McFadden and Sarah Larsen each scored three times to lead Northridge to a home win Saturday.
