Prep roundup: Wood’s 3-homer game helps Ogden softball in tournament win

ST. GEORGE — Jill Wood homered three times, driving in five runs, as Ogden High softball erased an early 4-0 deficit for a 15-5, three-inning, run-rule win Friday over East at the St. George Classic.
Aracely DeLeon went 2 for 2 with a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored for Ogden (2-3). Baelee Ulm hit a two-run triple. Kenzie George pitched all three innings with two hits and one strikeout.
OGDEN 5, BRIGHTON 3
ST. GEORGE — Ogden took a 5-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning and held off a Brighton rally for a win at the St. George Classic.
Aracely DeLeon batted 2 for 3 with a solo home run for Ogden. Jill Wood went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Kenzie George pitched a complete game with five hits and 10 strikeouts.
VIRGIN VALLEY-NEV. 21, OGDEN 5
ST. GEORGE — Ogden gave up nine runs in the sixth in a loss to Virgin Valley (Nevada) at the St. George Classic.
Jill Wood batted 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs for Ogden. Mia Sugimoto went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Kassidy Waddell hit a double and a single. Sophia Edwards and Aracely DeLeon each doubled.
NORTHRIDGE 5, ALTAMONT 2
ST. GEORGE — Northridge scored four runs in the third inning for a win over Altamont at Dixie High.
Madisyn Lecour hit a three-run home run for Northridge (2-3). Makabree Nay batted 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Braylynn McClellan added a double. Kaylee Sherieffs earned the win with two hits and two strikeouts in four innings.

ST. GEORGE — Northridge jumped out to a 3-0 lead but gave up nine unanswered runs in a tournament loss to Page (Arizona) at Dixie High.
Jayden Anderson hit a two-run home run for Northridge. Berklee Larsen batted 2 for 3 with two doubles. Makabree Nay drove in one.
MORGAN 13, VIEWMONT 5
ST. GEORGE — Kiernee Carter hit a home run and a triple and drove in three to lead Morgan past Viewmont at Dixie High.
Lexi Hardman batted 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs for Morgan (2-1). Joesi Kelly went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs. Kaiya Peterson batted 2 for 2 with a double and drove in two. Callie Averett earned the win with two hits and four strikeouts over two innings.
SYRACUSE 7, NORTHRIDGE 6
ST. GEORGE — Syracuse scored four runs in the fourth inning to turn a 6-3 deficit into a win over Northridge at Dixie High.
Syracuse (4-1) did not report stats.
Kaydence Chournos hit a two-run double for Northridge. Berklee Larsen, Braylynn McClellan and Grace Butte each hit an RBI single.
SYRACUSE 7, MORGAN 4
ST. GEORGE — Syracuse took a 7-0 lead after two innings in a win over Morgan at Dixie High.

Kanyon Pratt hit an RBI triple for West Field (2-1). Boston Kap added a two-run double and Connor Miles hit an RBI single. Kap earned the win with three strikeouts and one hit over 1 1/3 relief innings.

ST. GEORGE — West Field gave up the winning run in the top of the eighth in a tournament loss to Olympus.
Conner Miles hit a two-run double for West Field (2-2). Tyce Abbott and Kanyon Pratt each hit a single.

NORTH LOGAN — Luke Pack had two goals and an assist to lead Weber to a win at Green Canyon.

SYRACUSE — Dallin Treasure kept a clean sheet and Tate Jacobs netted on a Wyatt Affleck assist in the first half as Syracuse (2-3) bested Corner Canyon.

OGDEN — Landen Lopez and William Phillips combined for the clean sheet as Utah Military-Hill Field shut out Telos on Thursday at Spence Eccles Ogden Community Sports Complex.
Ian Patino had two goals and an assist for UMA-Hill Field (1-1). Teegan Sharp netted twice while Pedro Flores, William Reiner, Alfonso Romo and Killian Pollock each scored one goal.
