LAYTON — After Farmington tied the game 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning, Northridge took back the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the inning.

Jon Olsen hit an RBI double for Northridge (4-2). Cooper Tubs added a double. Trevin Redd and Tyler Martin each hit an RBI single. Kam Shirreffs earned the win with three hits and two strikeouts over five innings of work.

SYRACUSE 5, WOODS CROSS 4 (8)

WOODS CROSS — Bronx Manning doubled and drove in two runs, and Syracuse topped Woods Cross (2-1) in extra innings Wednesday.

Burkon Beus hit 2 for 3, helping Syracuse (2-4) overcome 10 strikeouts at the plate. Caleb Wilson drove in a run while throwing the final two innings in 1-2-3 fashion with two strikeouts.

HERRIMAN — Syracuse grabbed a win at Mountain Ridge 18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 15-13.

Gabe Meredith tallied 17 kills and two blocks for Syracuse (3-1). Chase Barrett added 16 kills and 21 digs. Kayl Beutler served four aces. Caleb Applegate added two blocks and Talon Morris dished out 39 assists.

PLEASANT VIEW — Paxton Lighthall tallied 10 kills and four blocks as Weber (2-6) lost to Copper Hills. Set scores were 25-23, 25-16, 15-25, 25-20.
