Prep basketball roundup: Roy girls get past Northridge in region win
ROY — Roy High girls basketball led 15-6 after one quarter and shot 6 of 9 from behind the arc to hold off Northridge for a 41-40 region win Wednesday night.
Ariana Strain led Roy (6-11, 4-5 Region 5) with 11 points and shot 3 of 3 from the 3-point line. Jazzi Prieto added 10 points, and Jerzee Hart pitched in eight points and six rebounds.
Northridge (7-11, 2-7) got 15 points and seven rebounds from Karlee Mayfield. Izabel Kap totaled six points and nine rebounds.
WOODS CROSS 46, BOX ELDER 27
BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder trailed 20-13 at the half and could get no closer in a home loss to Woods Cross (12-6, 6-3 Region 5).
Emma Nelson led Box Elder (1-17, 0-9) with 11 points. Hannah Jeppsen tallied seven points and Paola Almeida scored four.

Mayson Jeppsen led Box Elder (4-14, 4-5) with 16 points. Carter Buchanan scored 15 points with three 3-pointers and Ryan Jenson added eight points.
SKY VIEW 63, BEAR RIVER 50
GARLAND — After taking a 28-25 lead into the halftime break, Bear River was outscored 38-22 after the break in a region loss to Sky View (11-9, 6-3 Region 11).
Kaser Thurgood paced Bear River (7-13, 3-6) with 16 points and Kash Avery added 13.
