Prep basketball roundup: Nielson shoots Syracuse girls to 10th win
SYRACUSE — Kyleigh Nielson hit six 3-pointers on her way to 27 points, leading Syracuse High girls basketball to a 76-35 home win Tuesday over Cyprus.
Maylee Anderson added 17 points and three treys for Syracuse (10-2). Olivia Sorensen added 10 points and Aubri Stoker scored eight.
SKY VIEW 52, WEST FIELD 45
TAYLOR — West Field trailed 21-20 at the half in a region loss to Sky View (10-5, 2-1 Region 11).
Jalyn Coombs led West Field (3-10, 0-2) with 19 points and five 3-pointers. Canyon Britt added 11 points and Kylee Mueller scored eight.
SOUTH SUMMIT 58, BEN LOMOND 16
OGDEN — Ben Lomond trailed 12-9 after one quarter and was outscored 38-7 in the second half in a region-opening loss to South Summit (10-4, 1-0 Region 13).
Payton Huff led Ben Lomond (2-10, 0-1) with eight points. Aleia Huff added seven points and Ryanne Begay scored one point.

LAYTON — Layton led 54-42 after three quarters and held off a Skyridge rally for a home win.
Karter Miller led Layton (9-3) with 21 points. Chase Randall scored 17 points with three 3-pointers. Sam Romer tallied 11 points and Jack Godderidge added nine.
WEBER 74, LOGAN 47
PLEASANT VIEW — Weber ran out to a 26-8 lead after one quarter and didn’t look back in a home win over Logan.
Luke Bingham scored 20 points and made three 3-pointers for Weber (9-4). Ryder Howe scored 15 points and Brandon Crockett netted eight of his 11 points in the first quarter. Derik Bowden added 10 points for the Warriors.
RIVERTON 62, FREMONT 57
RIVERTON — Easton Duft led all scorers with 30 points and five 3-pointers but it wasn’t enough as Fremont fell at Riverton.
Zach Hancock added seven points for Fremont (4-9) and Cam Campbell hauled in six rebounds.
BEN LOMOND 73, PARK CITY 53
OGDEN — Zeb Whetton tallied a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead Ben Lomond past Park City on Monday.
Korver Van Beekum and Jaerdan Van Beekum each scored 18 points with four 3-pointers and five assists for Ben Lomond (8-5). Jaerdan Van Beekum added eight rebounds and five steals while Korver Van Beekum hauled in six boards. Deshawn Holland had 11 points, four assists and four steals.
