Prep basketball roundup: Bonneville boys outlast Box Elder in 2OT; Ogden wins on halfcourt heave
BRIGHAM CITY — In a double-overtime game with two 30-point scorers, Bonneville High boys basketball outscored Box Elder 17-10 in the second extra period for a 76-69 win Friday night.
Ben Tesch paced Bonneville (9-12, 6-6 Region 5) with 32 points. Bryson Landis added 20 points and Luke Hall scored seven.
Mayson Jeppsen led all scorers with 33 points for Box Elder (4-17, 4-8). Kason Anderson tallied 14 points and Krew Peterson added nine points.
WEBER 58, FREMONT 44
PLEASANT VIEW — Weber outscored Fremont 17-9 in the second quarter to take control in a region home win.
Derik Bowden and Ryder Howe tied for game-high honors with 12 points apiece for Weber (14-7, 5-3 Region 1). Thomas Packer scored 11 points and Brandon Crockett added nine.
Cam Campbell led Fremont (5-16, 1-7) with 11 points. Will Ridgway, Easton Hansen and Easton Duft each scored eight points.
OGDEN 64, GRANTSVILLE 63
GRANTSVILLE — Brayden Wilson nailed a halfcourt, hooking heave at the buzzer and Ogden stunned Grantsville (11-12, 3-7 Region 13) for its third region victory.
It was Wilson’s fifth 3-pointer of the game; he led Ogden (11-12, 3-7) with 19 points. Conrad Moore and Jackson Maw each added 10 points.
LAYTON 70, FARMINGTON 60
LAYTON — Layton built a 57-40 lead after three quarters and held off a Farmington (6-14, 2-6 Region 1) rally for a region win.
Jonah Fullmer led all scorers with 21 points for Layton (17-4, 7-1). Sam Romer added 20 points. Karter Miller tallied 11 points and Jack Godderidge scored 10.
WOODS CROSS 68, ROY 44
WOODS CROSS — Woods Cross (13-8, 8-4 Region 5) broke open a 29-27 halftime lead with a 22-5 third quarter.
Colby Frokjer led Roy (6-15, 4-8) with 15 points and six rebounds. Jesse Jones totaled 13 points and eight rebounds. Bryce Goodwin added nine points.
GREEN CANYON 63, WEST FIELD 41
TAYLOR — West Field couldn’t keep up with Green Canyon (22-1, 10-1 Region 11).
Jaxon Slaugh led West Field (10-13, 4-8) with 14 points. Jordan Harrison added seven points.
MORGAN 85, BEN LOMOND 49
MORGAN — Kolten Asay tallied 17 points with five 3-pointers to put him at 200 made 3-pointers for his career in a Morgan home win over Ben Lomond to complete a perfect region run.
Bracken Saunders scored a game-high 21 points for Morgan (22-1, 10-0 Region 13). Brody Peterson added 14 points and four 3s. Jake Hansen had 11 points and Mason Williams had five blocks.
Jaerden Van Beekum led Ben Lomond (5-18, 0-10) with 15 points. Zeb Whetton scored 12 points and Korver Van Beekum added nine.

KAYSVILLE — Syracuse led 30-24 after three quarters and held off a spirited Davis comeback bid to remain unbeaten in region play and claim a 10th straight victory.
Maylee Anderson paced Syracuse (18-2, 8-0 Region 1) with 10 points. Rachel McBride and Olivia Sorensen each scored eight points and Aubri Stoker tallied seven.
T’Maea Eteuati led all scorers with 13 points for Davis (13-6, 5-5). Kate Willard scored eight points and Chloe Peery added seven.
BOX ELDER 48, BONNEVILLE 44
BRIGHAM CITY — Bonneville led 41-34 with 2:18 left before Box Elder finished the game on a 14-3 run — with Jocelyn Vranes making two 3-pointers and two free throws — to claim its first region win.
Vranes paced Box Elder (2-19, 1-11 Region 5) with 23 points and Emma Nelson scored 15.
Baya Jimenez led all scorers with 26 points for Bonneville (5-16, 1-11). Charity McDonald added nine points.

WOODS CROSS — Roy managed just 19% field goal shooting in a road loss at Woods Cross (13-8, 7-5 Region 5), unable to overcome 21 points apiece from Adia Cook and Grace MacArthur.
Ariana Strain led Roy (7-13, 5-7) with 10 points and four rebounds. Jerzee Hart totaled eight points, six rebounds and eight blocks
BOUNTIFUL 42, CLEARFIELD 35
CLEARFIELD — Clearfield led 20-18 at the half but Bountiful (18-2, 12-0 Region 5) took over with a 24-15 second half to all but claim the Region 5 title.
Ciara De La O and Izzy Wyaskett each scored 10 points for Clearfield (15-6, 10-2).
JUDGE MEM 69, LAYTON CHRISTIAN 34
LAYTON — A 19-5 disadvantage in the second quarter doomed Layton Christian to loss Thursday to Judge Memorial (12-11, 8-0 Region 14) to wrap up an unbeaten region crown for the Bulldogs.
Fabiana Lopez led LCA (13-10, 5-3) with 10 points. Sarah Ledio scored seven points.
