LAYTON — Layton scored in the bottom of the eighth for a walkoff win over Syracuse, taking the rubber match of the Region 1 series.

Fish Manning batted 4 for 4 with three doubles and four RBIs for Layton (6-9, 5-1 Region 1). Nik Bielaczyc went 3 for 3 with two doubles. Zane Morgan batted 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Ethan Clark hit a double. Andres Cedeno earned the win with zero hits allowed, one walk and two strikeouts in three innings of relief.

Burkon Beus batted 2 for 4 with one RBI and two runs scored for Syracuse (3-11, 2-4). Calder Millard hit a two-run double. Dom Johnatakis drove in two with a single and Easton Hamblin added an RBI single.

NORTHRIDGE 8, BOUNTIFUL 6

LAYTON — Northridge scored four runs in the third inning to take a 6-1 lead and held off a Bountiful (8-9, 5-1 Region 5) charge for a home win.

Boston Wright batted 2 for 3 and scored two runs for Northridge (11-6, 3-3). Jon Olsen hit a two-run double and Trevin Redd hit a two-run single. Kam Shirreffs got the win with three hits, zero earned runs and three strikeouts in three innings.

BEAR RIVER 8, MORGAN 0

MORGAN — Etrhan Higgs batted 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs and pitched a four-hitter as Bear River grabbed a shutout win at Morgan.

Michael Sanchez and Holden Potter each hit a double and a single for Bear River (12-7) with Potter driving in two. Jaxson Theurer hit an RBI double. Thomas Summers hit an RBI single.

Owen Gilson, Kanyon Leonelli, George Jensen and Lincoln Gilson each hit a single for Morgan (14-7).

FARMINGTON 4, WEBER 2

FARMINGTON — Weber scored a run in the second inning to tie the game at 2-2, but gave up two runs in the sixth in a region loss at Farmington (4-12, 2-4 Region 1).

Jarett Hill and Preston Gerritsen each batted 2 for 3 for Weber (2-12, 1-5). Hill hit a double and scored a run. Caden Lindholm hit an RBI single and Ridge Torman added a single.

WOODS CROSS 16, BONNEVILLE 1

WOODS CROSS — Bonneville scored in the second inning to cut the Woods Cross (10-7, 5-1 Region 5) lead to 4-1 but could get no closer in a region road loss.

Jet Hirschi, Colt Randall and Paden Toula each hit a single for Bonneville (7-10, 1-5).

VIEWMONT 10, CLEARFIELD 5

BOUNTIFUL — Colt Chambers batted 2 for 4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs but it wasn’t enough to overcome an early 4-0 hole against Viewmont (9-8, 4-2 Region 5).

Logan Fenn hit 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Clearfield (8-9, 4-2).

WEST FIELD 6, LOGAN 1

TAYLOR — Ella Doxey hit a two-run home run and West Field lumbered past Logan (11-9, 5-4 Region 11).

Rylee Andreasen batted 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs for West Field (11-4, 7-3). Kam Bell went 2 for 2 with a double. Clair Nessen hit an RBI double. Ellie Koford and Brinklee Hadley each had a hit. Hadley pitched a complete game with four hits and 10 strikeouts.

FARMINGTON 13, LAYTON 3

LAYTON — Farmington scored in all five innings of a region road win at Layton.

Brooklyn Wright batted 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and two RBIs for Farmington (9-5, 2-2 Region 1). Kiley Gazafy and Sophia Strong each went 3 for 4 and had an RBI. Gazafy hit two doubles.

Olivia Woodall batted 2 for 2 and drove in one for Layton (0-10, 0-4). Kinsie Harper and Ryleigh Newey each hit an RBI single.

BEAR RIVER 1, MTN CREST 0

GARLAND — Kate Wilson pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts as Bear River scored in the sixth inning to beat Mountain Crest (6-13, 1-9 Region 11).

Aubree Fry batted 2 for 3 with a double for Bear River (20-1, 11-0). Luci Roche hit a double while Allie Aoki and Cora Miller each singled. Bostyn Lish scored the game’s only run.

MORGAN 25, OGDEN 12

OGDEN — Morgan scored nine runs before Ogden batted and ballooned that lead to 12-0 in the second inning in a region road win.

Kaiya Peterson batted 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, nine RBIs and three runs scored for Morgan (11-5, 5-2 Region 13). Joesi Kelly went 4 for 6 with two RBIs. Lexi Hardman had three hits and three RBIs.

Eva Birkeland batted 2 for 3 with a double and drove in two. Kassidy Wardell and Callie Averett each had two hits. Averett got the win with five earned runs, six hits and one strikeout over two innings.

Jill Wood hit a home run, a double and two RBIs for Ogden (5-12, 3-5). Aracely DeLeon hit two doubles and drove in two. Kassidy Waddell added two doubles. Lauretta Taylor batted 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Sophia Edwards hit a two-run double.

MORGAN — Gerardo Esquivel netted a brace in the first half to lead still-unbeaten Ogden to a region win at Morgan (7-8, 5-3 Region 13).

Jace Rodriguez also netted in the first half for Ogden (14-0, 10-0). Xavier Peregrina kept the clean sheet. Luis Velasco assisted both Esquivel goals and Grant Aardema assisted Rodriguez.

PLEASANT VIEW — Luke Pack scored on an assist from Owen Simerick in the second half to lift Weber past Davis (7-4, 4-2 Region 1).

Boston Smith kept the clean sheet for Weber (10-3, 3-3), who opened the scoring with a Davis own-goal in the first half.

SYRACUSE — Dylan Bruce had a goal and two assists to lead Fremont to a region road win at Syracuse.

Carson VanBeekum added a goal and an assist for Fremont (9-3, 3-3 Region 1). Justin Daniels and Aden Freeman each netted once while Braxton Denkers assisted one score.

Wyatt Affleck scored just before halftime for Syracuse (7-6, 3-3).
