Prep roundup: Three homers fuel Fremont 11-1 at Clearfield; LCA boys shut out Jordan 8-0

CLEARFIELD — Fremont baseball hit three home runs and had seven extra-base hits Friday in a six-inning 11-1 win at Clearfield.

Brant Koford hit a homer and a double and drove in three for Fremont (7-3). Cole Sanders hit a two-run dinger and Chase Jones hit a solo shot. Tyson Greeve hit an RBI triple. Owen Simkins and Kasen Pearson each doubled. Jace Hadley got the win with four hits and two strikeouts over five innings.

Taven Swarts batted 2 for 3 for Clearfield (3-7). Hudson Meyer hit a double. Logan Fenn hit an RBI single and George Garcia added a single.

MORGAN 9, JUDGE MEMORIAL 8

MORGAN — Morgan scored four runs in the sixth inning to take an 8-3 lead, then saw Judge Memorial draw even with five runs in the top of the seventh inning before the Trojans scored in the bottom half of the inning for a walk-off win.

Luke Bauerle batted 3 for 5 with a triple and three RBIs for Morgan (10-3). Owen Gilson went 2 for 2 with two walks, two RBIs and two runs scored. Beck Sheffield hit a double. Camron Talbot got the win with five hits allowed and seven strikeouts over six innings.

HERRIMAN 7, WEST FIELD 1

HERRIMAN — Kanyon Pratt batted 2 for 4 with a double and scored the lone West Field run in the sixth inning in a 7-1 loss at Herriman.

Conner Miles hit a double for West Field (6-6). Luke Penland hit an RBI single. Tyce Abbott, Grady Garrett and Andrew Hurst each hit a single.

CORNER CANYON 19, OGDEN 0

OGDEN — Kash Thompson had a double and a single as the only Ogden (0-12) hits in a four-inning 19-0 loss to Corner Canyon at Lindquist Field.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 8, JORDAN 0

LAYTON — Five different Eagles found the net as Layton Christian boys soccer rolled past Jordan for an 8-0 shutout on Friday night.

Leonardo Quirino led the Eagles (8-1, 6-0 Region 10) with a hat trick and Francisco Frago finished just one goal shy of another. Mickael Duablibi, Bento Vieira and Raphael Bueno all recorded goals in outpacing Jordan (1-8, 0-6 Region 10) for the win.
