Postseason volleyball begins Saturday with six Northern Utah squads finding their schools listed in the 4A through 2A brackets released by UHSAA Wednesday morning.

Two 3A members, No. 4 seed Morgan and No. 11 seed Ogden, are the only two area squads to earn first-round byes. In contrast, Region 17 co-champion St. Joseph enters the 2A playoff as a No. 8 seed and did not receive a first-round bye.

First-round matches are played at home sites.

Beyond the first round, the 4A and 3A tournaments will be played Nov. 1-2 at Utah Valley University’s UCCU Center in Orem. The 2A tournament will conclude Nov. 1-2 at Snow College’s Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.

4A Playoff

Eight teams received first-round byes and 16 teams will contest first-round matches. Bear River (2-25) did not make the playoff cut.

First round, Oct. 26: No. 19 Snow Canyon (12-16) at No. 14 West Field (14-14).

3A Playoff

Fourteen teams received first-round byes and four teams will contest first-round matches.

First round, Oct. 26: No. 18 Ben Lomond (1-16) at No. 15 Judge Memorial (8-18).

Second round, Nov. 1: No. 4 Morgan (15-12) vs. No. 13 Manti (8-18); No. 11 Ogden (10-15) vs. No. 6 Richfield (15-13).

2A Playoff

Five teams received first-round byes and 22 will contest first-round matches.

First round, Oct. 26: No. 25 Utah Military-Camp Williams (6-16) at No. 8 St. Joseph (21-6); No. 27 Utah Military-Hill Field (0-14) at No. 6 Kanab (18-8).
