Roy defenders Mone Keiaho (26) and Rhett Slater (11) celebrate an interception against Northridge on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, in Layton.

Postseason football is here.

Fourteen Northern Utah programs made their respective brackets spanning five separate classifications. Region 1 co-champion Fremont, Region 5 co-champion Roy and Region 3A North champion Morgan each receive first-round byes.

Wednesday and Thursday featured multiple fate-sealing games for the area’s top teams. Roy secured its share of the region title with a 21-14 win at Northridge; Fremont fell late at Farmington 21-14 to force a shared title with the Phoenix.

In contrast, Morgan leveled Union 72-0 on Thursday to secure a perfect 10-0 finish as the clear favorite in the 3A picture. The Trojans join Richfield, Ridgeline and North Summit as the state’s four unbeatens heading into the postseason.

The 6A through 4A state semifinals (Nov. 14-15) and championship games (Nov. 21) will be played at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. The 3A through 8-Man state semifinals (Nov. 8) and championship games (Nov. 16) will be played at Southern Utah’s Eccles Coliseum in Cedar City.

Layton Christian Academy finished 6-4 overall and 4-0 in 2A North but is not eligible for the postseason due to UHSAA’s new rule regarding international student visas.

You can find complete postseason brackets for all classifications online at uhsaa.org.
