WASHINGTON TERRACE — Liliana Amarillo scored a brace, including the golden goal in the first minute of overtime, to lift No. 11 Bonneville High girls soccer to a 2-1 win over No. 22 Highland (5-12) in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs Thursday.

Bonneville (10-7) advances to travel to face region foe No. 6 Northridge (12-5) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15. The teams split their Region 5 series.

SOUTH JORDAN — No. 17 Fremont played No. 16 Bingham (5-13) to a 0-0 draw through full time but fell 3-2 in a penalty kick shootout for a 6A first-round loss.

The Silverwolves end the year with a 3-14 mark.

ALTA 3, BOX ELDER 2

SANDY — No. 18 Box Elder gave up a golden goal in overtime to fall at No. 15 Alta (7-10) in the 5A first round.

Marley Barber scored in the first half for Box Elder on a Taylor Nye assist. Halli Wright scored on a Desarea Elegante assist in the second half. The Bees end the year with a 6-12 record.

OREM 4, BEAR RIVER 3

OREM — No. 20 Bear River gave up a goal in the 79th minute in a season-ending loss at No. 13 Orem in the 4A first round.

Orem (9-7) opened with a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes. Lexi Winn got Bear River on the board in the 13th minute.

Jenessa Esquivel equalized for the Bears in the 43rd minute off a throw-in from Gacie Meads. After Orem took the lead back, Winn scored her second goal, in the 65th minute, on a long assist from Meads.

London Guyman scored the game-winner for Orem — her second goal on the day — in the 79th minute.

The Bears end the season with a 7-11 mark.

Brielle Wray had six kills for West Field (13-14, 8-3). Halia Fonotisatele served four aces and Kallie Tonioli tallied 14 assists.

OGDEN 3, SOUTH SUMMIT 2

OGDEN — Ogden used all five sets to beat South Summit (16-7, 4-4 Region 13) on Tuesday. Scores were 18-25, 26-24, 25-20, 23-25, 15-11.

Lauretta Taukiuvea had 15 kills and seven blocks for Ogden (7-11, 3-5 Region 13) and Tess Correa added 15 kills. Taylor Duke tallied 13 kills and 25 digs.
