Weber heads to the line of scrimmage during the 1999 state football championship vs. Bountiful.

PLEASANT VIEW — Weber High’s ready to party like it’s 1999.

The team that ushered in Weber’s second state football championship will regroup this weekend to celebrate and be honored.

The group will gather Thursday for dinner, and former Weber head coach Kory Bosgieter and his former players will be recognized during halftime of Friday’s home game against Farmington.

It was an 11-2 Warriors team that defeated Bountiful 17-14 in the 4A state championship game, now over 25 years into history. The season also included a memorable 40-0 shutout against Roy on homecoming.

The current Warriors (5-2, 1-1 Region 1) are fighting to keep their dreams of a 6A title alive with the final three weeks of the regular season setting up state playoff seeding. The Warriors especially felt the return of quarterback Crew Cacciacarne last week; the senior threw for 389 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-27 win over Syracuse at home.
