Prep basketball roundup: Atwater scores 45 points in Davis tournament win
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Coleman Atwater nearly defeated West Valley High, of Yakima, Washington, on his own.
The senior lefty poured in 45 points to lead Davis High boys basketball to a 78-49 win Saturday, good for a third-place finish at the Curtis High Winter Classic in Washington. Atwater finished 16 of 24 from the field, including 8 of 12 from the 3-point line, and pulled down six rebounds.
Bode Sparrow totaled 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals for Davis (7-2). Tradon Bessinger and Croydon Christensen each had six rebounds while JT Turley dished five assists.
Davis turned 17 West Valley turnovers into 19 points and used 13 offensive rebounds to score 13 second-chance points.
AM. HERITAGE 105, BEN LOMOND 61
OGDEN — Korver Van Beekum shot 6 of 6 from the 3-point line and scored 27 points but it wasn’t nearly enough for Ben Lomond (4-7) in a lopsided home loss to American Heritage.

TAYLOR — Karlee Mayfield scored 11 of her 15 points in the second half and Northridge stifled West Field in a Saturday contest.
Rachel Mower scored 10 points and Izzy Kap added eight for Northridge (5-4).
Canyon Britt led West Field (3-7) with 14 points. Meghan Peterson scored eight.
