Prep basketball roundup: Davis, Ogden boys net additional wins; Fremont girls rally to beat Skyridge

KAYSVILLE — Davis High boys basketball handed Olympus its first loss on the season at the Darts’ own Northern Utah Challenge, claiming a 50-48 win Friday night.

Coleman Atwater led Davis (5-1) with 15 points. JT Turley tallied 13 points and Croyden Christensen added eight points, nine rebounds and three steals.

OGDEN 60, SUMMIT ACADEMY 41

OGDEN — Ogden led 48-26 after three quarters in a home win over Summit Academy.

Jackson Maw led all scorers with 20 points for Ogden (6-2). Ryan Kirkland scored 12 points and Kai Rodriguez added seven points.

ST. JOSEPH 100, UTAH MILITARY 62

OGDEN — St. Joseph led 52-29 at the half in a win over Utah Military.

Gunner Windsor dished 19 assists for St. Joseph (5-5). Gavin Donovan led all scorers with 32 points. Gavin Wolf tallied 22 points, Chase Fridberg scored 14 points and Declan Yarosik added 13 points.

Quin Eckberg paced Utah Military (3-5) with 24 points. Mason Jones added 14 points and Ryan Wankier scored 11.

AMERICAN FORK 53, LAYTON 50

AMERICAN FORK — Layton led 25-22 at the half but couldn’t hold off American Fork in the second half at the American Fork High tourney.

Karter Miller led Layton (5-1) with 19 points and three 3-pointers. Jonah Fullmer added eight points. Chase Randall and Joshua Checketts each scored six points.

HIGHLAND 74, SYRACUSE 62

KAYSVILLE — Syracuse trailed 51-44 after three quarters and could get no closer in a loss to Highland in the Northern Utah Challenge at Davis High.

Beckham Rees led Syracuse (2-4) with 14 points and four 3-pointers. Bradlee Trejo and Colton Hoenigman each scored 11 points and Carter Robinson added 10. Skyler Orton hauled in seven rebounds.

SKYLINE 62, ROY 38

KAYSVILLE — Roy fell behind 25-6 after one quarter in a loss to Skyline in the Northern Utah Challenge at Davis High.

Devin Nelson led Roy (0-5) with nine points. Colby Frokjer added eight points and seven rebounds.

GREEN CANYON 73, BOX ELDER 60

NORTH LOGAN — Kason Anderson led all scorers with 17 points and three 3-pointers but Box Elder fell at Green Canyon.

Carter Buchanan tallied 12 points for Box Elder (0-7). Krew Peterson added 11 points and three treys while Mayson Jeppsen scored 10.

OLYMPUS 68, ROY 47

KAYSVILLE — Colby Frokjer scored 17 points with eight rebounds and two steals for Roy in a loss late Thursday to Olympus in the Northern Utah Challenge at Davis High.

Devin Nelson netted 12 points with two 3-pointers for Roy. Boston Greenhalgh added eight points with two treys.

TAYLORSVILLE 66, BEN LOMOND 55

OGDEN — Taylorsville outscored Ben Lomond 23-13 in the third quarter on Thursday.

Deshawn Holland led Ben Lomond (2-5) with 15 points, three assists and two steals. Bryan Campos added 10 points and seven rebounds.

PLAIN CITY — Fremont trailed 38-30 after three quarters but came roaring back for a home win over Skyridge.

Sophie Valdez led Fremont (6-1) with 13 points and two 3-pointers. Abby Christensen added 11 points. Both Christensen and Valdez scored five points in the pivotal final frame. Lily Hall and Ava Post each tallied eight points.

TOOELE 45, OGDEN 43

TOOELE — Ogden trailed 30-14 at the half and couldn’t quite complete a comeback in a loss at Tooele.

Macy Vine led Ogden (5-4) with 14 points. Salote Tonga added 12 points and Jill Wood scored five.

FARMINGTON 58, WEST FIELD 40

FARMINGTON — Ellie Schow scored a game-high 14 points to lead Farmington past West Field.

Emilie Figlioli hit four 3-pointers on her way to 13 points for Farmington (5-2). Makelle Weber and Morgan Rogers each scored nine points.

Canyon Britt led West Field (2-5) with 23 points and two 3-pointers. Ella Doxey added nine points.
