Prep roundup: West Field boys pulls away from Northridge; Fremont falls to Viewmont at home
TAYLOR — West Field led 34-32 after three quarters, then pulled away from Northridge in the final frame for a 45-37 home win on Thursday.
Jaxon Slaugh paced West Field (4-3) with 18 points, two 3-pointers, and shot 4 of 4 from the foul line. Jordan Harrison added 10 points while Jaden Fowers and Drew Faddis each scored six.
Cael Lake scored a game-high 21 points with three 3s for Northridge (1-6). Jay Oliver tallied five points and Luke Bailey added four points.
VIEWMONT 56, FREMONT 44
PLAIN CITY — Fremont trailed 20-13 after one quarter and could not recover in a home loss to Viewmont.
Zach Masters and Zach Jancock each scored 10 points for Fremont (3-5). Easton Duft added nine points. Cam Campbell hauled in five rebounds.
Drezdon Jensen scored a game-high 15 points for Viewmont, including 14 of 17 from the free throw line.
MORGAN 69, AMERICAN HERITAGE 56
MORGAN — Morgan used a 40-25 second-half advantage to turn a 31-20 halftime deficit into a home win over American Heritage on Wednesday.
Bracken Saunders, Kolten Asay and Mason Williams each posted a double-double for Morgan (7-1).
Saunders had 18 points, 14 rebounds and four assists. Asay added 15 points with three 3-pointers, 11 rebounds and five steals. Williams tallied 14 points, 10 boards and three blocks. Jake Hansen scored 13 points.
ST. JOSEPH 72, FREEDOM PREP 44
PROVO — St. Joseph’s three G’s helped the Jayhawks outscore Freedom Prep in every quarter for a win Wednesday.
Gavin Wolf and Gavin Donovan each scored 22 points for St. Joseph (4-5). Gunner Windsor added 13 points.

OGDEN — St. Joseph outscored Maeser Prep (3-5, 0-3 Region 17) 12-3 in the fourth quarter to break a 22-22 tie in a home region win.
Lizzie Randall led all scorers with 14 points and two 3-pointers for St. Joseph (3-3, 2-0 Region 17). Mini Dewitte added eight points. Five other Jayhawks scored two points apiece.
GRANTSVILLE 55, SYRACUSE 48
GRANTSVILLE — In a battle of unbeatens, 6A Syracuse fell at 3A Grantsville.
Maylee Anderson led Syracuse (5-1) with 17 and four 3-pointers. Aubri Stoker added 10 points and three treys.
Avery Allred scored a game-high 20 points for Grantsville (7-0).
