Smith Entertainment Group (SEG), owners of the Utah Jazz and Utah’s NHL team, announced draft party events for both the NBA Draft and the NHL Draft in the Delta Center at the end of June.

The events will take place for the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft on Wednesday, June 26, and for the first round of the NHL Draft on Friday, June 28. Admission is free, according to a news release from SEG.

During each event, fans can watch ESPN’s live coverage on the center-hung scoreboard, experience real-time, virtual access into the Draft Rooms, and watch never-before-seen interviews with current players and front-office executives for both teams.

Fans can also enjoy family-friendly activities including giveaways, in-arena entertainment featuring a live DJ, and appearances from dancers and select Jazz and Utah NHL players, SEG says.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. on June 26 for the Jazz draft event. The TV broadcast begins at 6 p.m. and is expected to last until 9 p.m.

The Jazz currently hold the No. 10 and No. 29 picks in the first round (as well as overall pick No. 32, a second-round pick that will take place Thursday).

The team will also livestream a first-round special beginning at 6 p.m. MDT via the Jazz+ subscription service that will feature real-time reactions from front-office executives as they make their picks, and interviews with the team’s No. 10 overall selection.

For the first-ever Utah NHL draft party, doors open at 4 p.m. on June 28. The TV broadcast is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and expected to conclude around 7 p.m.

Utah’s NHL team currently holds the No. 6 overall selection in the first round, as well as 13 total picks in the 2024 NHL Draft — the most of any team: one in the first round, three in the second round, three in the third round, and six in later rounds.

Merchandise stores and some food and beverage vendors will be open during both events. Parking at Park Place, located across 300 West and South Temple from the Delta Center’s main entrance, will be free.

SEG says fans attending the events will enter Delta Center through Door 5, and that the arena’s standard no-bag policy will be in effect.

The teams say more information about the draft events will be announced later.
