Homeowner found deceased after West Haven fire

WEST HAVEN — A Tuesday evening house fire seemingly claimed the life of the home’s occupant, the Weber Fire District reported.

According to a press release, a structure fire was reported at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday in West Haven.

“Upon arrival, crews found smoke showing, and the homeowner’s location was initially unknown,” the release said. “Fire crews began a fire attack while search and rescue operations were conducted. Tragically, the homeowner was found deceased.”

The homeowner had not been identified as of Wednesday.

“Two pets were safely secured, and no other injuries were reported,” the release continues. “The scene has been turned over to the Weber Fire District Fire Marshal’s Office, the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, and Weber County CSI for investigation.”

Other responding agencies included fire departments from Roy, Clinton and Hill Air Force Base along with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
