Letter: Celebrating the leadership of Mayor Ben Nadolski

Mar 12, 2025

As Mayor Ben Nadolski’s assistant, I have a unique opportunity to see what his leadership brings to Ogden every day. In a time when leadership is often defined by ego and authority, it is refreshing to see Ben lead with humility, grace, collaboration and a people first mindset. Our mayor truly has an unwavering belief not only in Ogden, but the grit and determination of the people who call Ogden home.

His leadership fosters connection and creates opportunities for residents to improve their lives. He not only oversees the 700 employees who make up Ogden City Corp. but also serves the 90,000 residents of Ogden who either voted for or against him. Being in politics today requires immense courage, and the fact that Ben shows up as his authentic self every day is inspiring. His belief in Ogden’s potential is contagious. He has a natural ability to bring people together. The spirit of collaboration with businesses, community groups and individuals is producing real change. This is The Ogden Way.

I’ve seen so many meaningful moments. Like the night at A Night to Shine when he took off his lapel pin and gave it to an attendee who admired it. Seeing him sit with grieving families, offering his presence and support in their darkest hours. The time he emptied his wallet after hearing of a personal need. My personal favorite was when he took time to visit an elementary school, showing as one student remarked that not only is the mayor a real person, but is one who is excited about their achievements. Honestly, I could go on and on.

Ben is committed to building on the progress of past mayors. Having worked for Ogden City for nearly 28 years, 18 of those in the mayor’s office under Mayor Godfrey, Mayor Caldwell and now Mayor Nadolski, I can say with absolute confidence that I have the best seat in town! Ogden is my heart, and I am grateful for a leader with heart who embodies integrity, selflessness and dedication.

We, Ogden, are extremely lucky to have Mayor Ben Nadolski!
