Letter: My opinion on Trump’s pardon of Jan. 6 convicts
There has been a lot of chatter lately about Trump having a “mandate” to change things and something about the voters greatly supported Trump to do things his way! Well, the facts are that more people voted for candidates NOT named Trump than voted for one named Trump! The majority of voters voted against Trump! Trump did not get 50% of the votes cast!
Trump also said he was the best friend to law enforcement personnel and fully supported them! Then he goes and pardons the January 6 convicts who fought with police and one convict on camera beating a law enforcement officer with a flagpole with an American Flag on it! These convicts all pleaded guilty and were given just punishment! Some got years in prison! Then Trump calls these convicts “loyal citizens” who were unjustly sent to prison! And this guy is President of the United States! What a shame! God bless America! I hope we can keep our Democracy ! It seems to be hang by a thread!
