If Donald Trump has his way and does away with the 14th amendment to the Constitution, doing away with birthright citizenship, none of us will be American citizens. That’s right. I am an American citizen because I was born in America. That’s why all my friends, and most of you reading this newspaper, are American citizens. That’s why Donald Trump himself is an American citizen. We were born in America. I’ve never taken a citizenship test, never sworn an oath of loyalty, never had to prove my parents were American citizens. Neither has Donald Trump.
