Letter: An open letter to voters in Legislative District 10

Sep 28, 2024

I recently sent a “Thank you” letter to Representative Rosemary Lesser to express my appreciation and gratitude for her willingness to LISTEN to a person who did not live in her voting district. For several years many outdoor and environmentally aware citizens of our state have been raising the alarm regarding the accelerating decline of our Great Salt Lake. Dr. Lesser was one of the first at the Utah Legislature that got the message and began working across the aisle to bring attention to this potential disaster! Recently, much good work has been done by our Legislature and the Executive Branch to begin the process of saving our lake. Leaders like Dr. Lesser, who LISTENED to those of us who love the lake and understood the severe implications to our quality of life on the Wasatch Front if our lake died, need to be recognized for moving us forward just in the nick of time. Dr. Lesser’s leadership was and has been invaluable in our ongoing efforts to save the Great Salt Lake and our quality of life!

Most Americans know that public education is a main cornerstone of our republic. Sadly, we have some “on the Hill’ who are attempting to sabotage our public education for some perceived short term political gain. A Representative who Listens to us more than the vast pool of lobbyist is indeed special for all of us. As you think about your vote for the person to represent you in Legislative District 10 this November, please vote for the person whose voice of reasonable bipartisan leadership is good for all of us. I believe Dr. Lesser is that person!!!
