Letter: Thank you from Weber County DUP Museum
We want to express our gratitude to the Ogden City officials and contractors who made it possible for the Weber County Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum to remain open during the recent construction on 21st Street east of Wall Avenue.
The Museum is a nonprofit organization whose main purpose is to further pioneer history, especially in Weber County. Every October we host a Fall Bazaar, a fundraiser to support our facility at 2104 Lincoln Avenue.
When the city announced the construction project in August, we feared the likelihood of access problems would force us to cancel the bazaar. But when we contacted Steve Porter, the city’s project manager, he assured us the city and BHI, the construction company, would make it possible for us to remain open. In particular, he assigned Ashlie Albrecht as a liaison between the city, contractor, and us. She answered our questions, coordinated between the contractor and us, and made sure all arrangements were in place the week of the bazaar. The Bazaar was the most successful one we have held. Our service to the community continues. Thank you!
