Letter: Van Wagoner will represent all of Weber County, not a few

Nov 5, 2024

Dear Friends of Weber County,

Yesterday, I read a letter from Steve Van Wagoner’s incumbent opponent, and the choice for Weber County Commissioner has never been clearer. The incumbent candidate feels secure enough with his special interests that he doesn’t need to hear the people.

While the current commissioner’s focus seems to be on political division, Steve Van Wagoner’s focus is firmly on the people and future of Weber County. Division will not get us ANYWHERE.

He isn’t here to play partisan games or divide us–he’s here to unite us, to listen, and to lead with integrity. Steve’s campaign has been about bringing balance, fairness, and real solutions to the issues that matter most to us. On multiple occasions, Steve has listened to my concerns personally about Weber County and the decisions commissioners have an ability to make.

Steve’s values can even be seen in the campaign financial disclosures: the incumbent has very few donors, all of which have large amounts, and also many have had issues or projects come up before the commission over the past year. Steve, on the other hand, has hundreds of small donations. THAT speaks louder than anything– Steve is for the people and I feel he will tackle the issues in his portfolio with integrity.

Steve Van Wagoner is a candidate who will work tirelessly for all of us–regardless of party, background, or belief. He is committed to listening to the concerns of every resident, working on practical solutions, and leading with honesty and respect.

So, if you want a leader who stands with you and stands for Weber County, then Steve is the clear choice. He’s running to represent us all, not just a select few. I’m proud to support him, and I encourage everyone to take a close look at his message, his supporters, and his record. Steve Van Wagoner is for us.

Thank you for considering a candidate who puts people over politics. Let’s vote for Steve and make a real difference for Weber County.
