Letter: Rep. Rosemary Lesser listens and delivers
My daughter has adrenal insufficiency, a serious medical condition that may require a life-saving steroid injection at unpredictable times. Just like the emergency injections for allergic reactions and diabetes, the steroid injections are easy to do and can save lives. However, until this year, school staff in Utah could not legally administer them.
As a single mother with a full-time job, I have to send my daughter to school, but I was terrified to do so until school staff could administer her medication. I reached out to Representative Rosemary Lesser for help. She worked tirelessly to solve this problem not just for me, but for the entire community of children who share my daughter’s medical condition. She drafted a bill to allow school staff to administer the medication, and she supported me as I testified before the House Health and Human Services Committee. Our bill passed unanimously in both the House and Senate! Now I can send my daughter to school with confidence that she will receive proper treatment if she has a medical emergency during the school day.
From her service in the Air Force to her work as a doctor and now as a representative, Rosemary Lesser has proven that she is a tireless advocate for her constituents. She listens, she acts, and she delivers results. That’s why I’m encouraging everyone to vote for her re-election to House District 10.
