OGDEN — A man is dead following a suspected hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Washington Boulevard over the weekend.

Lt. Will Farr of the Ogden Police Department told the Standard-Examiner that the initial report of a man lying in the street came in Saturday evening.

“There was a call for officers to respond to the 3500 block of Washington Boulevard and, once there, they located an unconscious male in the turn lane just north of 36th Street,” Farr said. “Officers observed that it appeared to be a hit-and-run.”

According to Farr, the victim was unconscious but still breathing when officers arrived. He was transported to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The victim’s identity has not been released and Farr declined to say whether police had identified a suspect in the possible hit-and-run.

An investigation of the incident is ongoing.
