Per a release from the Ogden Police Department, officers responded to a call regarding an individual lying in the roadway on the 400 block of 800 North in Ogden at approximately 9:06 p.m. The victim was found “with a single gunshot wound to her left upper chest” and transported to a local hospital where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

The woman’s identity has not been released and Lt. Will Farr of the Ogden Police Department told the Standard-Examiner that no other info regarding the incident, which remains under investigation, would be released at this time.

There does not appear to be any ongoing danger to the public, according to police. Anyone with information regarding the incident are advised to contact OPD by calling 801-395-8224.

“We appreciate the assistance witnesses provide and encourage anyone with additional information to come forward,” the release stated.
