ROY — A woman is dead as a result of a T-bone crash Thursday afternoon, according to the Roy City Police Department.

The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of 3100 West and Midland Drive at approximately 3:35 p.m., police say.

“It appears a southbound vehicle on Midland Dr. attempted to make a left turn onto 3100 W. and turned in front of a northbound vehicle,” a news release stated. “The northbound vehicle, occupied by 2 individuals, collided with the vehicle turning left.”

Per the release, the passenger in the northbound vehicle — identified as an elderly female — sustained “critical” injuries in the crash. She was transported from the scene by Roy City Fire & Rescue but was ultimately pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The woman’s identity has not been made public.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was treated for “minor” injuries sustained in the collision before being released, police say. No condition was given for the driver of the northbound vehicle.

At this time, no charges have been filed in relation to the incident. The Weber-Metro C.R.A.S.H. team was called to assist with the investigation, which is ongoing.
