HUNTSVILLE — A 35-year-old man died after a crash while skiing Friday at Snowbasin resort, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Corey Stark said Tuesday the man was skiing with a group when he crashed into a weather station and a tree. The crash happened at about 2 p.m., he said.
“The other people there were talking to him and he said his chest hurt,” Stark said.
The man’s name was not released.
Final determination of the cause of death is pending autopsy results, Stark said. The incident remained under investigation Tuesday.
“Snowbasin is sad to report that a guest passed away following a collision on the mountain Friday, February 11,” the resort said in a prepared statement. “Ski patrol responded immediately to the scene to attempt lifesaving measures on the unresponsive guest. We offer our deepest condolences to the individual’s family and all involved.”
