OGDEN — The Weber County Commission approved a number of consent items and one action item during a brief session Tuesday.

Warrants in the amount of $3,536,384.64 were approved, more than $2.1 million of which was earmarked for Phase 4 of Staker Parson’s 12th Street construction project.

The county is widening the west 12th Street corridor, between 7100 West to 8300 West, including roadway and storm drain improvements. Additionally, the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District is constructing 18,200 linear feet of 30-inch waterline.

Also approved was a change order for the waterline portion of the project to cover the costs of switching from bedding sand to 1-inch gravel with a layer of separation fabric to avoid potential settlement issues.

The total net change to the order was $184,665.60.

Also approved were purchase orders in the amount of $224,702.23, approximately $162,000 of which was for the Weber County Jail for camera, control access and server equipment, glass replacement for corridors and cleaning supplies.

An additional $44,000 was approved for the Weber-Morgan Health Department vaccines/vaccine clinics.

The Ogden Eccles Conference Center and Weber County Sheriff’s Office received approval to surplus old theater lights and a Vulcan convection oven, respectively.

A contract between by and between Weber County and Nimet Aydoner to purchase right-of-way along 2550 South for corridor preservation using funds from the Weber Area Council of Governments was approved, as was a retirement agreement between by and between Weber County and Douglas Anderson.

Finally, a subrecipient agreement designating American Rescue Plan Act state and local recovery funds for the United Way of Northern Utah to support the construction of the Nonprofit Connection Learning Campus was approved.

The lone action item resulted in the approval of a contract with Rock Hard Excavating for storm drain improvements on Combe Road, following a brief presentation from Weber County Engineer Gary Myers.
