Weber school officials give final OK to high school boundary changes
WASHINGTON TERRACE — Weber School District officials have given final approval to new boundaries for Roy, Weber and Fremont high schools to accommodate the opening of West Field High School in the 2024-2025 school year.
The school board approved the second reading of the proposed changes on Wednesday, finalizing them. School officials preliminarily approved the new boundaries last month.
The changes have been the focus of plenty of discussion for around a year and Wednesday’s action came after minimal discussion.
West Field High is being built in the West Haven area to accommodate student growth in western Weber County. As a result of the changes, portions of the current Roy and Fremont high school boundaries will become West Field High territory. At the same time, Fremont High will take over a portion of what is in the Weber High district as officials aim to balance the number of students at the schools.
