Seasoned players, high rollers and newbies alike now have the ability to hone their skills in table games like craps, blackjack, roulette and Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em — without making actual cash wagers — at All In Gaming, located in Studio 36 at The Monarch, 455 25th St..
The gaming parlor, which held its grand opening last month, was founded by Nick Labrum, a Kaysville resident and information technology specialist with a lifelong passion for casino games. And its origins can be traced back to a trip taken by Labrum and his wife to the state line one year ago.
“So, we go to the birthday party and I’m playing craps,” Labrum said. “I’m looking around and I’m like, ‘Man, everybody here is from Utah.’ And then I also noticed that nobody knew how to play craps.”
Labrum was inspired to bring the game back home, teach others how to play and provide them with a local spot to do so.
“We set up all these tables in my garage at home first, and we just started playing and inviting people to play, and everybody was having a great time,” Labrum said. “We were like, ‘Well, why don’t we find a place and see if we can open this up to the public.'”
Flash forward to now and All In Gaming boasts casino-quality tables where players 18 and older can game with points rather than gambling real dollars. Patrons receive points with the purchase of a day pass and also have the ability to purchase chip refills.
In addition to day passes, All In Gaming offers memberships that allow players to carry chips over between sessions. They can also earn spots on the parlor’s all-time leaderboard.
Lessons for individual games are available by appointment before open-play sessions.
“(Prospective learners) get on the website and they’ll reserve one of the time slots for whichever table they want to learn. Whether it’s craps, blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em or roulette, they’ll reserve an hour slot,” Labrum explained.
The parlor can be booked for private events and parties as well.
All In Gaming is open to the public Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to midnight. It’s open by appointment only for lessons and challenges on those same days, from 3-7 p.m. For more information, including pricing, or to request a private event, go to https://allingamingutah.com.
