Police identify victim in fatal weekend crash in Ogden; impairment being investigated as a cause

OGDEN — The victim of a Saturday morning crash in Ogden has been identified, while the cause remains under investigation.

According to a release sent out early Monday afternoon, police and fire were summoned to a two-vehicle crash in the 3000 block of Harrison Boulevard around 12:07 a.m. Saturday.

“A silver Ford Focus had been traveling north on Harrison Blvd when it crossed into the southbound lanes and subsequently collided head on with a Ford F350,” the release said. “The 21-year-old female driver of the Focus was extricated and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.”

The release said that a passenger in the Focus, identified as 21-year-old Tylar Palmer, sustained significant injuries.

“She was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital where she unfortunately passed away,” the release said. “The incident is under investigation by the Weber/Morgan CRASH Team and impairment is being investigated as a factor. … We extend our condolences to those affected by this incident and want to remind drivers to avoid driving anytime they are impaired.”
