The 23rd annual Historic 25th Street Car Show will take over the well-known thoroughfare Friday from 5-9 p.m. According to a press release from the Ogden Downtown Alliance, this year’s event is expected to draw around 24,000 people to view over 350 classic and custom vehicles of all shapes and sizes.
In addition to cars, music and food, this year’s show offers a sizable expansion.
“This year introduces an exciting new addition to the show: the Pit Zone Expo, located in the Ogden Municipal Park alongside Historic 25th Street,” the release said. “Designed with families in mind, the Pit Zone Expo will feature local vendors, kids activities, live music, and entertainment. Families can come to enjoy free coloring & activity sheets, temporary tattoos, a car-themed kids obstacle course and interactive activities hosted by NUHOPE and Ogden’s George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park, and free axe throwing provided by Social Axe Throwing. A live pinstriping demonstration will be offered by local artist Matt Zamora of Zamora Designz, who also created this year’s event and poster design artwork.”
Cecily Kiss, community partnerships director with the Ogden Downtown Alliance, told the Standard-Examiner that the park offers a change of pace for car show patrons.
“Opening up our footprint into the park allows us to create a space for families and folks who might want to get off the heat of the street and into the park for a quieter experience where they can still have fun and connect with other folks in the community who are car enthusiasts while doing some shopping, eating and vibing to the music,” she said.
Additionally, attendees can expect performances by The Low Point and Brazuca Band. A taco-eating contest hosted by All About Tacos will also occur at 7 p.m.
