SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Utah Temple is nearly ready to be presented to the world and those who will be utilizing it for years to come.

In a press release issued Tuesday, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the open house and dedication dates for the new temple.

A media day is scheduled for May 7, followed by two days of tours for invited guests May 8 and 9. The general public will then get a chance to sneak a peek at the interior of the temple during the public open house to be held May 10 through 31 (excluding Sundays).

The temple’s dedication will happen June 8 and be broadcast at all units in the temple district.

The Syracuse Utah Temple was originally announced by President Russell M. Nelson during the faith’s April 2020 general conference. It will be one of 31 temples in Utah either in operation, under renovation, under construction or announced.

“The ceremonies conducted inside each temple teach about the purpose of life and unite families, both past and present,” the press release added. “Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints promise to keep God’s commandments, support His work, live the higher law that Christ taught while on earth, remain chaste and dedicate their lives to building the Church of Christ.”
