CLINTON — A short road closure is set to begin next week in northern Davis County according to a press release from the Utah Department of Transportation.

“Starting the evening of Sunday, April 6, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will close the east side of the 1800 North and 2000 West intersection for ten days in Clinton in northern Davis County,” the release said.

The closure on the east side of the street will be in place until April 17, at which time that side will reopen and the west side of the intersection will be closed for 10 days, opening on April 27.

“These closures are necessary to accommodate the paving of the concrete at the intersection,” the release said. “Without this ten-day closure, the work would require six closures and would take 60 days to complete.”

The release adds that the closure is part of a wider project in the area.

“This intersection widening is a part of the improvements made to 2000 West (SR-108) from 300 North to 1800 North, widening the road to two lanes in each direction, new multi-use path on the west side, continuous sidewalks throughout the corridor and school crossing/intersection improvements,” the release said.
