Ogden man sentenced to decade in prison in porn case
SALT LAKE CITY — An Ogden man has been sentenced to 120 months in jail and a lifetime of supervision following his third child pornography-related conviction.
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Utah, Jordan Alan Neves Brewer, 37, Ogden, was sentenced Monday to 10 years of imprisonment, a lifetime of supervised release and ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution after he admitted to possessing child pornography in 2023.
“The sentence was imposed by Senior U.S. District Court Judge Clark Waddoups after Brewer admitted in February that he possessed child pornography while on supervised release for a prior 2012 federal conviction of the same conduct,” the release said. “Brewer also has a state conviction for possession of child pornography. He was released from his state sentence in 2019 and completed sex offender treatment in 2021.”
The release explains that a home inspection led to the latest charges.
“According to court documents and statements made at the change of plea hearing, on March 30, 2023, a United States Probation Officer conducted a home inspection at Brewer’s residence and found unapproved electronic devices,” the release said. “A forensic search of Brewer’s laptop revealed child pornography involving prepubescent children.”
The case was investigated jointly by the U.S. Probation Office and the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office.
