Ogden City names new airport director, set to begin work next month
OGDEN — Ogden-Hinckley Airport will be under new management in late-September.
Thursday afternoon, Ogden City sent out a press release naming Brian Condie, C.M., ACE, as the new airport director, effective Sept. 23.
With a growing region, a return of commercial service and major events on the horizon, the release notes that Condie will be plenty busy in his new position.
“In his new role, Condie will oversee the safety, administration, planning, and development of all airport operations, with a strategic focus on expanding both commercial and private aviation,” the release said. “Looking forward to the 2034 Winter Olympics and beyond, he will lead critical initiatives, including safe and secure operations, business recruitment, executive air travel services, lease negotiations, strategic planning, and fiscal management–all aimed at enhancing the regional economy.”
According to the press release, Condie also has a plethora of experience in airport administration.
“Before joining Ogden-Hinckley Airport, Condie served as Airport Director at Rifle Airport in Colorado,” the release said. “There, he secured and managed federal and state grants, increased airport revenue, and established a self-sustaining financial structure. His tenure included overseeing a multi-year runway realignment and introducing advanced aviation technologies, earning him a commendation from the Colorado Governor. Condie also played a crucial role in executive aviation operations in Salt Lake City during the 2002 Winter Olympics.”
Condie said that he’s excited to take on the challenge in Ogden.
“I am honored to join Ogden-Hinckley Airport and eager to work with the dedicated team here,” Condie said in the release. “With a focus on safety, security, and service, I look forward to building on the airport’s strong foundation and enhancing its role as a key transportation hub for our region.”
Ogden Mayor Ben Nadolski said the nationwide search for a new airport administrator for the city was a huge success.
“It is paramount to our community that during our nationwide search we found the best candidate who would focus on safety and excellence in airport operations,” he said in the release. “We are thrilled to welcome Brian Condie to our team. His extensive experience and forward-thinking approach make him the perfect fit to lead our airport into the future.”
A public open house is set to introduce Condie at the Ogden-Hinckley Airport terminal Sept. 26 from 4-7 p.m.
