Slackwater revamps menu with new items, World Famous Pho comes to Ogden
OGDEN — Kriss Smith and Justin Gumm have been feeding locals at their trendy pizzeria and pub, Slackwater, since 2011. Recent changes to the menu include adding three brand new pizzas and bringing back some old favorites at 1895 Washington Blvd.
The Hulk ($14.25) features a green cilantro-lime cream base, avocado, tomatoes, fresh jalapeños and a blend of cheeses.
A traditional comfort dish morphs into the Mac & Cheese Pizza ($13.25), with house fontina sharp white cheddar macaroni, buttered panko bread crumbs and balsamic reduction. Create an even richer experience by adding bacon for $1.
Also new to the menu is the Chicken Alfredo Pizza ($14.25) topped with chicken, bacon, garlic and spinach.
Regular diners may remember two pizzas that returned to the menu in recent months after a hiatus. The Italian Job ($12.25) is made up of garlic-infused olive oil, pepperoni, salami, capicola ham, pepperoncini and a drizzle of parmesan herb vinaigrette.
Also making a comeback, the Taste of Thai ($13.50) combines peanut sauce, roasted chicken, smoked bell peppers, onions and three cheeses with a dollop of sweet Thai coleslaw on top.
On the lighter side, the restaurant brought back two salads, giving diners a total of seven options to choose from.
The restaurant’s miso salad ($8.75) mixes greens with carrots, pineapple, white miso vinaigrette, sesame seeds and toasted almonds. Its spinach salad ($8.75) features leaves of baby spinach topped with shaved apples, candied pecans, crumbled gorgonzola and choice of house specialty apple-bacon vinaigrette or vegetarian herb cider vinaigrette.
In addition to more than 230 beers in stock and 13 on tap — three of the taps rotate to include seasonal selections of new releases — the restaurant now offers both a red and a white wine with the Slackwater label.
Sunday brunch, served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., continues to draw a crowd, and the restaurant is considering adding Saturday brunch as well.
Brunch classics include eggs benedict ($8), panko crusted French toast ($7.50) and breakfast pizza ($11) with thinly shaved fried potatoes, bacon, sausage, cheese and two eggs over the top.
