With the Christmas season under way, there are a slew of holiday movies out there — some of which have been filmed right here in Utah.

The Utah Film Commission recently sent out a news release sharing its “Guide to the Holiday Season,” a list of the latest “feel-good, festive movies, made right here in-state.”

Here’s a list of some of the films with scenes shot in the Standard-Examiner circulation area, courtesy of the commission:

”The Mistle-Tones” (2012) — This ABC musical’s final scene was filmed in Ogden, with the rest of the movie being filmed in Pleasant Grove and Salt Lake City. Following the rivalry of two singers, the movie leads up to a competition on Christmas Eve.

”Christmas Land” (2014) — Shot in Farmington, Riverton and Salt Lake City, the Hallmark Channel movie follows a woman who inherits a Christmas tree farm but plans on selling it. However, her plans might change when she falls in love with the town and a lawyer who lives there.

”My Christmas Prince” (2017) — Filmed in Ogden, this made-for-television movie tells the story of a young teacher dating a prince. However, she doesn’t know that he’s a prince, and when she finds out she has to choose to either teach or become royalty herself.

”Jingle Belle” (2018) — Shot in Brigham City, this film follows the story of two high school sweethearts who have been reunited over the Christmas Eve Pageant they used to do together in high school.

”Christmas Wonderland” (2018) — Filmed in Bountiful, Ogden and Salt Lake City, this movie tells the story of a young painter who returns to her hometown to help with curating. As Christmas quickly approaches, things lead to a dance with her high school sweetheart, and she becomes conflicted over whether she should stay.

”Christmas Made to Order” (2018) — This film, which included some shooting on location in Layton, is about an architect who recruits a holiday coordinator to bring holiday joy to his home. Somebody falls in love in this Hallmark Channel movie.

A number of other movies were shot elsewhere in Utah, including:

“Shoelaces for Christmas” (2018), filmed in Draper; “Christmas Inn” (2018), filmed in Payson and Provo; “Wrapped Up in Christmas” (2017), filmed at the Provo Towne Center; “Enchanted Christmas” (2017), filmed in Midway at Zermatt Lodge; “Switched for Christmas” (2017), filmed downtown Salt Lake City, Federal Heights and the Utah State FairPark; “My Christmas Love” (2016), filmed in Park City; “Christmas Under Wraps” (2014), the first Hallmark Channel move to shoot in Utah, filmed in Salt Lake City, Payson and Heber City; “Little Women” (2018), filmed in Salt Lake County; “Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas!” (2011), filmed in Salt Lake City and St. George; “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000), the Ron Howard/Jim Carrey film partly shot at Solitude Mountain Resort; “Dumb and Dumber” (1994), some scenes filmed in Park City; “Better Off Dead” (1985), with scenes filmed at Snowbird, Alta and Brighton ski resorts; and “Mr. Krueger’s Christmas” (1980), the holiday special starring James Stewart and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, filmed in Salt Lake City.
