Volunteers still being sought for Ogden’s Holiday Electric Light Parade
OGDEN — It’s about time to kick off the holiday season in Ogden — and you can help.
In anticipation of this year’s Holiday Electric Light Parade, set for Nov. 30, officials are still looking for volunteers to help with the event.
According to Regina Esparza, marketing and communications coordinator for Ogden City Arts, Culture & Events, 25 positions remained to be filled as of Tuesday and she’s hoping to fill them by the end of the week.
A press release addressing the need for volunteers laid out the following expectations:
- Volunteers will be called upon to help keep parade spectators on the sidewalk and out of the street, or to walk with a float, also helping to keep spectators safe.
- Volunteers should commit to showing up at 3 p.m. and plan on staying until 7 p.m. They need to be able to stand for long periods, walk multiple city blocks and able to walk or stand in cold weather conditions.
- Volunteers will check in at 3 p.m. at the Ogden Amphitheater, 343 25th St. A complimentary volunteer sweatshirt, reflective vest and a flag will be provided.
- Volunteers will take their posts on the street or with a float between 3:30-4 p.m. The Santa Run Starts at 4:30 p.m. and parade starts at 5:30 p.m.
- Email questions to specialevents@ogdencity.com.
Esparza said available positions include float escorts and street volunteers at intersections, the firework zone and the disbanding area.
