Val J. Chase

Val J. Chase, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather peacefully returned to his Heavenly home on March 26, 2025, at the age of 92 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 9, 1933, in Ogden, Utah to Jesse Earl and Arvilla Jones Chase. He grew up in Ogden, where he graduated from Ogden High School.

He married his sweetheart, Myrna Sadler on December 28, 1952, and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple. They were blessed with three sons who always kept them busy. He lived in Ogden and the surrounding area his entire life.

Val was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings throughout his life. Dad and Mom served a 2-year mission together in the Addiction Recovery Program for the Church. He loved to travel with his companion and acquire unique collectables wherever they went. He loved his family and would do anything to help when needed.

Val is survived by his three children, Brad (Dianna) Chase, Clinton, UT; Cory (Sharon) Chase, Pleasant View, UT; and Barry (Kay) Chase, Liberty, UT; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his wife, Myrna; his parents; and his daughter-in-law, Wendy Chase; and grandson, Brock Chase.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
