Mae Marsh Ferguson

Mae Marsh Ferguson of Pleasant View, UT passed away peacefully at the age of 88, from natural causes on March 17, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.
Mae was born on October 24, 1936 in Lexington, KY to Mancel Marsh and Almeda Mae Marsh, Mae lived in Lexington and after her mother’s death she was raised by her grandmother until the age of 11 when she moved to Kankakee, IL to be with her father. She had a very close relationship with her step-sister Betty Jo Thomas. After graduating from Bradley Bourbonnais High School she moved to Provo, UT to attend Brigham Young University where she met her future husband, Roy Grant Ferguson. After a short courtship, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 13, 1957. While attending BYU, they lived with Roy’s Mother in Lake Shore, UT. After Roy graduated, they moved to Ogden, UT where Roy became a school teacher. They eventually built a home in Pleasant View and surrounded by wonderful neighbors, they raised their family. Mae worked at the IRS Service Center in Ogden and eventually retired after more than 30 years of government service. After Roy’s retirement, they moved into the Pleasant Meadows Condominiums where she served a short time as the HOA President. She enjoyed several good relationships with neighbors and LDS Ward members.
The family was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mae served in various callings and was an active member her whole life. Mae served several terms in the Pleasant View City Council and the North View Fire Board. While serving, she was instrumental in the planning and construction of a walking/bike path along Pleasant View Drive now known as Mae’s Way, along with other improvements.
Mae was preceded in death by her Husband – Roy Grant Ferguson, Father – Mancel Marsh, Mother – Almeda Mae Marsh and Stepsister – Betty Jo Thomas. Surviving are her Children: Sue Ann Schumers, (Doug), James Marsh Ferguson (Judy), John William Ferguson (Charlotte), David Bruce Ferguson and Ariel Marsh Ferguson; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The Family would like to thank all the neighbors and church members that were such a part of Mae’s life and Intermountain Hospice who treated her with respect and dignity.
A Private family Funeral Service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park on Monday, March 24th . Friends are invited to celebrate her life at a viewing at Myers Mortuary 845 South Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT on Sunday March 23rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The family is requesting donations be made to The American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
