John Cecil Cole, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, in Roy, Utah, at the age of 97.

Born on May 23, 1927, in Moran, Texas, to John Francis Cole and Margaret Berneice Mahoney. He was the 2nd of 3 children, born between Richard and Francis.

He married Donna Jean Bingham in June 1946 and together they built a life filled with joy and unwavering partnership. Together they raised 4 sons, Jim (Bonnie), Jack (Pam -deceased), Richard (Cathy), and Casey. He adored the seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish our memories made with him.

John’s love story with his wife, Donna Jean, was one for the ages. Together, they navigated life’s ups and downs with grace and unwavering support for one another. Their partnership was a source of inspiration to all who knew them, exemplifying the true meaning of love and commitment.

John’s patriotism was exemplified at a young age when he joined the Marines in 1944. His bravery was undeniable, as he served his country with honor until he was wounded in battle, leading to his departure from the service in January 1952. His military experience shaped him into the man he became, earning him the respect of all who knew his story.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard, daughter in law Pam, son Casey and grandson John Brandon.

John’s life journey was one of courage, dedication, and profound love for his family and country. He will be forever missed by all the friends that became family.

A private family service was held March 17, 2025, at Leavitt’s Mortuary.
