Lynada Bennett Reeder

Jan 21, 2025

July 6, 1940 — January 15, 2025

In the quiet dawn of January 15, 2025, Lynada Reeder was called home to her Heavenly Father, a woman of remarkable courage, strength, and faith. Born in Lewiston, Utah on July 6, 1940, to Glen Harold Bennett and Mable LaVerne Redford, Lynada cultivated a life that was as vibrant and colorful as the quilts she lovingly crafted. Her unwavering spirit and tender soul were her signature, and she embraced every trial with an unshakeable faith that inspired all who knew her.

She was a high school graduate from Weber High School. She married Atho Vernile Parsons on August 15, 1958, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were married for 24 years and later divorced. She later married Hal F. Reeder on June 14, 2012, in Brigham City, they were sealed on November 23, 2013, in the Brigham City Temple, where they later served as temple workers.

Her career spanned various roles with remarkable versatility – from owning her own dressmaking shop to working in the office of a car dealership, to volunteering as a grandmother at a local elementary school. Her handiwork was not confined to the realm of clothing, as she was also a licensed interior decorator in the furniture industry.

However, Lynada’s creativity extended far beyond her professional life. She was an exceptional quilter, often donating her masterpieces. Her love for home remodel and decoration, scrapbooking, and cooking were legendary amongst her circle. Her parties were the highlight of the social calendar, and her potato salad was deemed the best ever tasted. The inventor of “Cookie Night”, Lynada’s wrapped gifts were an art piece in themselves.

Lynada’s devotion to her faith was unyielding. Throughout her life, she served in numerous roles within the LDS Church, including as a ward relief society counselor, homemaking leader, young women’s president, service mission on Temple Square, and ministering sister.

She is survived by her loving husband, Hal Reeder, her children Colette Wiggill, Mark (Angel) Parsons, Charlotte (Michael) Rhoades, Karen (Rex) Bodrero, Wendy (Rick) Platt, Annette (Rex) Pehrson, David Reeder, Marianne (Brian) Hiatt and Michael (Nicole) Reeder; siblings Glenda Draper, Elaine (Jack) Kerivan and Jeffrey (Cindy) Bennett; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Lynada is preceded by her parents Glen Harold Bennett and Mable LaVerne Redford and her brother Marvin Glen Bennett.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City 17th Ward, 139 East 300 North, Brigham City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will be held at the Brigham City Cemetery.
