Colleen Parke Walser
Colleen Parke Walser, 90, of Ogden Utah, passed away on January 11, 2025. Colleen was born on April 27, 1934, to Clifford and Viola Parke in Burley, Idaho. When she was 5 years old her family moved to Ogden, Utah.
She graduated from Ogden High School in 1952. On December of 1952 she married Blaine Orton in Ogden. Colleen and Blaine had three children, Jody Wallace (husband Kent), Mickey Orton of Ogden and Kelly Orton of Manistee, Michigan. They later divorced and Colleen married Robert Walser in June of 1963. They had one daughter, Debra Elizabeth.
Colleen loved to sing, she was part of the trio “The Parke Sisters”. They sang at various places throughout Utah and Idaho. She had the extraordinary talent of playing the piano “by ear”. She could listen to a song then sit down and play that song with both hands. She never learned how to read sheet music. She played golf, sewed and volunteered for numerous charities. Red Cross, Hospital Axillary and Ramsdell Theatre were some of her favorites. She also did charity work in Mexico, where they spent their winters after retirement. Colleen carried on the tradition of her mother as one of the most selfless people ever.
Colleen was predeceased in death by her parents, twin sister Loween Adams, and daughter Debra. She is survived by three of her children; Jody Wallace, Mickey Orton, Kelly Orton; sister, Gayle Albright (Husband Gene) and her brother Cliff, (wife Elizabeth), 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held a Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th St. in Ogden, on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 6-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross, an organization Colleen felt strongly about.
